Brazilian footballer Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior plays as a forward
for Barcelona. He was born on 5 February 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes.
Neymar started out in the youth team of Santos, where he was immediately deemed as a future star player. He entered the academy in 1999 and caught an attention of the coaching staff at once. The footballer’s considered to be a clever player who displays nice touches, has an eye for goal and give a shot power. For ten years, the forward went through all the “ranks” in the Santos youth system, until he was ready to perform at the higher level. In 2009, the head coach selected Neymar for the first squad. Despite the absence of playing experience at professional level, the young forward was quick to establish himself as a self-confident footballer able to perform as one of playmakers. These qualities made Neymar a desirable player for powerful European clubs to have at their disposal.
